Dec 19, 2023: Who needs pesos when you have iguanas

Shoutout  to the person on the combi with me thats playing English music. Even though I dont think they understand any of it. They are still jammin to it tho so that’s lit.

This week has been amazing for me and I’m so grateful for it. Someone once told me that on a mission you will have weeks that are super hard and then you will have one moment that makes the week worth it and that is so true.

Highlights from the week:

Our friends Santiago and Victoria got married and now we are just waiting for her to heal from her surgery and then they can get baptized.

We found a house for the cat and took it to a town that was 30 min away and that was an adventure. The cat has been living in the Casa de Oracion with the elders there for a while now, and it was a little hard to get rid of it, but as we had a desire to and tried our hardest to follow the rules of the mission, we saw miracles. While we were in the town, we got a little lost and didn’t know what to do so i said a prayer and not five min later, our ZL’s walked down the street. We were in their area and they had found the house for the cat so they helped us to it get there.

I was getting my hair cut when my comp said he knew how to cut hair, so the member just handed him the clippers and said go for it. So now I look like I’m in the military. But actually it was what I asked for so it’s lit.

We had our zone conference early for Christmas and it was awesome. It ended up being more just like a zone pday so it was super fun. President and Hermana Camey gave us messages at the beginning and I’ve never been more excited to take notes cause it means that I understood what they were saying. Later that day we got to ball up and it was nice to play some competitive basketball for a little bit.

Update: the person is now playing cardi b so yeah.

Spiritual thought for the day:
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

These two commandments have many different meanings and today i found another one.

When you love someone, you look up to them and try to emulate what they do. You change yourself to be more like them. You look at the example for what to do. You listen to and seek their advice for your life. When we truly love God, we want to become more like Him. We become converted to Him. We find the joy and peace from having a perfect example to look to. We seek for His advice through the scriptures and through the words of prophets and apostles. We use the agency that He has given us to make choices; that when we love our neighbor we desire to help them to feel the same sense of peace and joy that we feel and help and invite them to find the Source for themselves.

Also if anyone is wondering it costs three smaller iguanas for 1 liter of Pepsi.

espero que tengan un felice navidad
