Dec 4, 2023: the most important moment in all of history
This week has been packed full with all different types of experiences and teaching moments for me personally.
Monday was pday and we got to play some of the people in our branch in basketball. They were good but I’m convinced that you just can’t beat missionaries in a game of basketball.Tuesday we had a lesson with our barber friend and we found out that he made some not good choices and now has to move back to Guatemala. Two things I have really learned here is that there are some trials that we make ourselves and some that God gives us, but He will never tempt us to do the wrong thing. Also alcohol is stupid and you should never drink it.
Wednesday was zone confrencia. It was really good. My mission president is a pretty straight forward guy and is it not afraid to tell it to us straight, which I love. I’m excited to continue to learn from him for the next two years. It was lit to meet all of the other missionaries in the zone.
Thursday we had exchanges with the ZL’s and it was so good. The first counselor of the mission lives in Tonala and we got to eat in his seafood resturante and it was so freaking good.
Saturday we had the opportunity to participate in a service project, which meant we got to take sledgehammers and knock down an old concrete and brick baño.
Sunday was fast Sunday and the family group is really small right now and even when most of the members share their testimonies, it doesn’t fill up all of the time. After that, we got to watch the first presidency’s Christmas devotional.
My spiritual thought is Jacob 6:12 “O be wise; what can I say more?”
Our agency gives us the ability to make choices that show Jesus our faith and
to choose to follow Him. So please be wise in physical and in spiritual matters and use the resources that God gives you to make the choice to follow Him. There is so much of the Atonement of Jesus Christ that I am still learning about and I encourage everyone to study about it. This is why we celebrate Christmas. Because before He could do all of this, before He could suffer for our sins, He needed to come into the world. How blessed are we to have a season to celebrate and worship Him. We can be the angels of the story and to bring to those around us the good news of the gospel and to share the light that was born into the world on that blessed, sacred so long ago.
Love you all,
Elder Bradshaw
