I've officially been in Mexico for a week. This week has been pretty crazy. There have been a a lot of ups and downs. First of I am in a great area. There is so much work to be done and we have so many lesson that we are teaching. Like an unreal amount. I think for tomorrow we have a lot lessons planned for the day. Now hopefully when we get there they remember we had the lesson planned. This is a huge blessing for me that I get to start off in an area that has a ton of great people who we are able to serve and want to know more. The people here are also either really interested or just too nice to say no because we have only had one person say no to us coming back to teach a lesson. As before mentioned I live in a house of prayer. It's a pretty simple house but I actually love living there. There is no running water but we do have a tank of water for showers and washing stuff. There is a fish that lives in it tho. He eats all the bugs that fall in so we don't have to clean them out. I like him a lot better than the cat that we have that woke me up at 4 am today. And I had to restrain my self from drop kick out of the house.
I had a very funny and humbling moment this week when I was talking to my comp. I was trying to explain a thought that I had in spanish and I thought that I got my point across ok. After my comp, who is from Ecuador and only speaks a little English, asked me to say it again in English so he could practice. After I finished he look at me and said, Elder I understand you better in English then I do in spanish. So yeah pls pray for me that I can have the gift of tongues and am able to learn spanish on the timeline that god has planned for me. And I just want to say right now that if I am able to learn spanish it is 100% because of the power of god and nothing that I have done on my own.
We actually had a lesson today that was really good I felt like. The guy we were teaching had a lot of questions and it seems like he is genuinely interested in learning the gospel which is always an awesome feeling. The only interesting part of the lesson was that there was a naked baby running around for most of it and it was outside just sitting on some rocks so that was fun.
Spiritual thought this week is about the book of mormon. It truly has power. Talking about the book of mormon president Nelson said, "When I think of the Book of Mormon, I think of the word power. The truths of the Book of Mormon have the power to heal, comfort, restore, succor, strengthen, console, and cheer our souls."
These are the words of the prophet of god. The book of mormon is one of the greatest gift that we have ever been given. If you are feeling sad read it. If you are feeling angry read it. If you are feeling annoyed read it. If you are feeling lonely read it. If you are feeling alone read it. If you feel like no one understands read it. If you are feeling any feeling read it good or bad. I testify it has the power of god because it is the words of God.
